Chasing Pavements

06 - Adele - Chasi...
But if I tell the world
I'll never say enough
Cos it was not said to you
And that's exactly what I need to do
If I end up with you

Should I give up
Or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads no where
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there.

Oh man..What a day. The office is in a depressing mood today. Everybody seems stressed out, and the heavy atmosphere is pushing my mood down as well. I need to get out! I need sunshine. I need to sweat it all out. Why does it have to rain everyday when I'm in the mood for some sun?

I thought I was going to get some yesterday when I left the office, and the sun was shining right into my face through the bus window. But who is to know that my journey home was to be a journey from the sun and into the gloomy grey clouds that loomed ahead. I felt like we were leaving the sun behind. Poor Sun, poor me.

My poor dead blog. I guess no one reads it anymore. Gonna need more advertising :P

Anyway, yes..I got a job. OR should I say, I got two jobs? I'm now at work as a HR assistant in tuas (yes, i know...don't give me the 'so faaarrrr' look. It isn't really that far from my place). Have been working for two weeks and I'm already wishing I'm still a student. Well, technically, I AM still a student, so I should say 'I wish I'm studying instead of working'.

Work is boring. But people here are nice (just in case they find this blog). Haha..no, they really are nice and it's fun talking to them during breakfast and lunch - which are indisputably my favourite times of the day right now, not considering dismissal time of course. But the job I do is rather tedious and brainless. Not that I'm complaining. (I'm just describing!) I knew my job would be brainless admininstrative work before I even attended the interview. That's what people hire students on holidays for, right? (Not applicable to rimei though) I just wish I'll finish all the filing soon and get something more...no, less sleep inducing. >.<

Off to breakfast, be back soon.

I'm back! Sigh..and I should get to work soon. I miss school. And current NJ students are going to cringe at this: I miss NJ too.

I sleep about 5 to 6 hours a day now. But it felt alot lesser than the 4 to 5 hours I survived on during examination periods. That's how sleep-inducing my work is.

Yawns away ~o~

I'm back from signing up for driving lessons at BBDC! Got long story (not very long la) to tell. The first part is pretty boring. Just about meeting up with biqing, arriving there, and signing up. Seems that many staff there are very friendly. Some a little 'over' though. Like guy who took my photo for me. Anyway, skip that.

So, I've finished signing up and took the bus home. Spoke to my dad about my signing up experience and suddenly..."Ah? Why you sign up for auto? My car is manual leh.."

*Jaw drops*
*Heartbeat accelerates*
*Slams head against the wall*

Yes...I know I know..typical danao. :(:(

So I panicked abit before I called BBDC. The lady who picked up the phone said I have cancel my enrolment and re-sign up again. Plus, my $86++ enrolment fee will be forfieted and I have to pay another time for the second enrolment. :(:(:(:( *super big ugly pout*

So I grabbed my keys and bag and went out again to BBDC and settle this stupid mistake. (Oh, just how many more such mistakes do I have to make to learn my lesson?). And it seems that after that innocent statement made by my dad, everything went downwards for me. I waited for the bus for......forever. FIVE '300' buses came and went before '188' finally came. Argh...Okay, nevermind.

Then, when it reached at BBDC, I wanted to get down the bus. But it was so crowded I couldn't get down in time!!! This has never happened before!!! So I alighted at the next stop and tried NOT to stomp all the way back (because it rained and there were huge puddles on the ground).

I reached BBDC, talked to the over-friendly staff (now, i'm thankful for their over-friendliness) and the nice lady at the counter said I can switch to manual after I pass my basic theory test. Meaning, no forfiet YET.

*Big big sigh*
*Walked out*
*Boarded the bus*
*Reached home*
*Blogging about it*

Wait...this post should be about my encounter with the police! Oh well, not so interesting anymore. Ask me about it if you wanna know. Haha..I saved a poor woman from further physical abuse.Really made me reflected abit about the whole concept of marriage.

Woohoo~

Okay. This blog is dead. Yes, I know. I promised to write a post about the East Coast Park outing on Thurs. But since it is two days late and some things happened yesterday that is worth blogging about, this is a 3-in-1 post. =D

Ah...It's nice to see the horizon again - where dreams and reality meet.. (though i refuse to remember the part of the analogy that says you can see the horizon, but you'll never reach it. I came up with that analogy anyway...)

The people!!! Clockwise from top: ME!, Bao, Rimei and Hui Qian. Heehee, i chose the picture in which my forehead is conveniently 'cut off'. ;)

Cycling at East Coast is FUN! Something I've been wanting to do ever since A's started. Hm...that feels so so so long ago now. Anyway, the weather was great! With the dark clouds and the pouring rain. Hahaha..don't be mistaken. Not a ounce of sarcasm in that statement. In fact, the high part of the day is when we had to cycle back to the renting station in the pouring rain! It was damn cold, yes. But funny. We were (especially me and rimei) were laughing HYSTERICALLY, I bet people thought we were crazy. And HuiQian had to protect her contact lens by putting on bao's cap and her sunglasses, making her look totally like a runaway fugitive. I could have taken a picture. But my phone is wrapped in plastic bag and stuffed deeply (okay, my pocket is actually very shallow) in my pocket to protect it from the rain.

Oh oh..and we meet Mr. Tan Suan Tian! (I hope I spelt it correctly) Our P.E. teacher from sec sch..and aw, I miss BP so much. I so want to go back there as a relief teacher or something. In the old-but renovated-so-i-guess-its-new campus. =D
After the cycling, we had lunch at a nearby Hong Kong cafe and ended spending slightly more than two hours there just chatting and laughing away. Muahaha. Then, it off to my house when we bathed and watch DVDs..ah..I have to say it's the best outing since A's were finished. All the things I love - the sun, the rain, my friends, memories of BP days, the beach, the sea, the trees, and last but not least, lazing around in my house. Haha. I guess I'm not much of a shopper, since shopping the whole day, strolling from shop to shop isn't my ideal type of outing. Hee..

Okay, I have to leave and meet my friend at Bukit Batok already, so I have to end this here. We're going to sign up for driving lessons at BBDC! Woot~ So I guess this post is not a 3-in-1 after all. =D. Continue in another post when I get back.

The next post shall be: My Encounter With the Abusive Husband and '999' Last Night..
Yes, I called the police last night..
Sounds interesting?
(Don't worry. I'm not the one being abused.)

Hm...

A's Over!! A week ago...The liberating feeling is long gone. Haha, replaced by fatigue from all the shopping. And a nagging feeling at the back of my mind. Like I've still got so many things to do - applying for stuffs and looking for jobs. And of course, some things that I should have done long long ago, but still have not brought myself to it. Arg..hate this feeling. Guess I should move my lazy bum and start doing something already.

Don't need high heels for a good feel
You can keep the fancy clothes
I'll take walkin in the rain
Over things material
I'll trade Melrose and the big names
Give me faces that I know
Just play a melody that everybody knows
Take it down, down, down
And strip it to the core
I don't really need much less is more, more, more

True to life, true to me
The way it's got to be
So simple, so simple, so simple
Live to love, love to be absolutely free

Give me wisdom, plain and truthful
Teach me somethin I don't know
Plain as education, inspiration I suppose

Give me family, on a Sunday
And I'll be just fine
There's nothing in the world
That's worth more of my time

Livin my dream, is my song to the world
Sharin' my soul and spirit
I'm hopin that you hear it

Got one life to live
It's only what you make it
Every new day's a chance worth takin

It's been more than a month since my last entry, which I wrote just days before the start of my revision for prelims. Now, prelims are almost over. Well, that means the whole examination period actually lasted more than a month. Argh..one whole freaking month? A whole month of not being able to enjoy myself thoroughly when I choose to slack and not being able to focus as well as I had been able to when I choose to study. That really sucks. So now it's finally over (well, almost...with a last one-hour biology paper 1 tomorrow morning), I can enjoy a long sigh of relief.

I begin this post not knowing exactly what will make up the bulk of it, except that complaining about the long and tedious examinations will definitely be a part of it, seeing that that's all my life is about at the moment. While my physical stamina has improved (by quite a lot I would say) these two years, my 'mugging stamina' has deteriorated drastically. Though I refuse to believe that my mental strength has declined, I have to admit that my will to study has shrunk and I'm a trifle worried. Perhaps I just need some recharging.

But what's been bugging me more than my mental fatigue is something else that I don't quite know how to phrase. I have always been making a conscious effort against some of my tendencies. A couple of you might be aware of one of these tendencies. People say that only a fine line exists between arrogance and confidence. But in my position, sometimes it seems that the line is almost non-existent. Sometimes, I wonder if my attitude seems to others as arrogant or just confident. It hard for me to decipher for myself, as much as I try to. I would hate for people to think of me as someone arrogant and over-confident, and even worse, for such opinions to be truly justified. I believe this is a natural tendency, just like prejudice and others. They're part of human nature. But I'm not saying that I'm just going to leave them as it is, and let them manifest into something worse. Like how prejudice can manifest into discrimination. So I make a conscious effort against prejudice too. (Yes, I believe that an unprejudiced attitude is unattainable without a conscious effort.)

While the line may be getting blurer for me, I'd rather waver around it and occasionally stray beyond it, than become hypocritcal for fear of unpleasant opinions. And perhaps I should mention this: hypocrisy is another one of man's natural tendencies.
